How to change the light bulb?

i have a 1996 E36 bmw 328i coupe with the normal front bumper (http://www.lakeycars.co.uk/images/BMW4.jpg). one of my fog lights don't work. How do change it DIY? can i change the light bulb to an LED? which light bulb i need?

ThanksHow to change the light bulb?well 1st of all disconnect your battery just for safety then you need to crawl under the car remove the connector carefully you don't want to cut any wires then turn the socket anti-clockwise it should be easy to pull it back at that point not just pull the bulb from the socket replace with new one and put the socket back into its place

as for using Led its really simply u need H1 LED bulbs although the normal one looks better as most LED bulbs right now will end up looking spotty in such a relatively large fog lightHow to change the light bulb?Do not disconnect the battery just to replace a foglight bulb. Otherwise you would erase your clock and radio settings, even need to re-input your radio code.

The bulb can only be accessed from inside the front fender well, so somehow you have to remove the splash shields/fender liners covering the front fender area, twist off the covering cap and replace the bulb.

The original bulb is an H1 type. And while it can be replaced by an HID system, this means installing

both xenon bulb, ignitor and ballast/control module to make it work. And the fender well near the bumper which scrapes the road so often is not the perfect place for such an installation (water and wires getting abraded are problems). Lastly, the car's lamp control module might set up a fault and check foglamp light due to the change in the foglamp circuit's current draw and resistance characteristics (if installation is done incorrectly).
