Changing light bulb holder?

My bulb holder is damaged and i have to change it. I have purchased a new bulb holder, however i do not know how to change the same. I have never done this before. Can you give some pointers on thisChanging light bulb holder?Always cut the power off to the fixture before doing anything and check with a voltage meter. You may have to take down the old fixture. If so remove the fixture and remove the two or three wires (white, black and ground) from the ceiling box. It may be taped or have wire nuts that hold the wires from the fixture to the house wiring. Remove the old holder with the screws or fasteners that are holding it to the fixture. Run the wires from the new fastener exactly as the old wires were run and reattach the holder to the fixture. Wire up the fixture just as you removed it and reinstall the fixture.Changing light bulb holder? You could try the old Soviet Police system in which 3 policemen were required, one who could read, one who could write and one more to keep an eye on the two intellectuals.

Or the Irish method, also requiring 3 people, one to stand on the chair and two others to lift and turn the chair until the bulb is screwed in.
